Slow Transfers (2022-2024)

Mixed technique. Inkjet photo printing on matte paper and transparent adhesive tape.
Canson Canvas print, 50cm x 40cm

The three works on display at the NCD Exhibition at Figo Store are the result of research in photography and exploration of printing, glueing and transfer processes of printed surfaces, developed from 2021 to 2024 in the cities of Florianópolis, Itapema, Itajaí and in Brussels, Belgium.

Slow Transfers are co-dependent works, as they arise from a print of the same photograph and its transfer to different types of paper, creating absorption nuances and revealing pigments and hidden shapes. They result from a process of simulation of the collages and detachments of the billboards with adhesive tapes, creating, in the image itself, repetitions, overlaps and discomfort.

Since 2021 I have been investigating, in image and architecture, techniques and experiments in motion, printing, distortion in photography and video, deepening the techniques and poetics of instability. In my practice, I call image exhaustion the formatting results of these works and their printed materialisation. In this way, I distance myself from the search for the static and definitive image, deciphering the magic of the photographic device and inkjet prints, as in the words of Vilém Flusser and Wolfgang Tillmans.
